MUSIC

Featuring acoustic and electric guitar, vocals and whatever I have laying around my studio - old boxes, pencils, an ancient organ - Sound of War is really the sound of me exploring possibilities, and sharing my influences through a few carefully-chosen covers.

Blue Water is my first foray in to self-production. Recorded at home on a pair of Rhode microphones, it's a mix of blues and folk with a decidedly modern twist.

Gravity (the EP, not the phenomenon...) is a mix of love songs; desperation, advice, comfort, hurt, and longing are all here, but the one underlying theme is inevitability.

What's a Chimera?

1. A thing which is hoped for but is illusory or unattainable; an impossible dream.

I never thought I'd be a musician. Somehow, despite picking up guitar late and hating my singing voice, I've ended up with an album and no day job.

2. (in Greek mythology) a fire-breathing monster with a lion's head, a goat's body and serpernt's tail.

The album is similarly stitched together. Two tracks (Bakerloo Blues and Bewitched) date from June 2014, while three (Upside-Down, Little Town and The Fracking Song) were recorded in January 2015. The rest were recorded through the summer of 2015.

Listening to the tracks in date order, you can hear the development of my voice, guitar technique and songwriting.
